Bob Elton

Executive Chair, Powertech Labs Inc.

Bob Elton is Executive Chair of Powertech Labs Inc and consults in the area of values based leadership.  He retired as CEO of BC Hydro in December 2009. He joined Powerex, a subsidiary company of BC Hydro, in December 2001 as Chief Financial Officer; he was appointed to Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of BC Hydro in March 2002 and was subsequently appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in October 2003. He was with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP for over 20 years and was made a partner in 1987. From 1996 to 2001, he was Chief Financial Officer of Eldorado Gold Corporation.

Mr. Elton received his Master of Arts from Cambridge University, England. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1976 and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC, and has an Institute of Corporate Directors designation. 

In the community, Bob is Vice Chair of Simon Fraser University; Chair of the Immigrant Employment Council of BC; Chair of the Whitecaps Foundation; and a member of the Board of Canadian Business for Social Responsibility and the Minerva Foundation for BC Women . In addition, he has coached girls and women's soccer in the community for over 20 years. He is married with 2 children.
