Canadian Business Responds to Haiti

Our thoughts are with the Haitian people at this extremely difficult time. Following is a round-up of actions by members of the Canadian Business for Social Responsibility network - many have  acted quickly to respond to the urgent need.

 

Several companies are making it easy for their customers and employees to donate. Often they are  using their unique operational networks (branches, stores), charitable relationships, technical capacity and business focus to contribute. See below for ways you can donate.

Canada Post promotes donations to Red Cross

BMO pledges $250,000 to the Canadian Red Cross
Donations accepted in branches

 

Canadian Credit Unions are accepting donations through branches for the Red Cross and other relief efforts

 

The Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada (CDF) is now accepting donations to provide assistance to Haiti's 175 credit unions and the nearly half-million members that they serve.

 

RBC donates $100,000 to Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund
RBC branches also accepting public donations to Red Cross Relief Fund in Canada and across the Caribbean

 

Scotiabank contributes $250,000 to the Canadian Red Cross for Haiti Earthquake Relief Efforts

The Co-operators will provide up to $150,000 to match donations by employees, agents and others to the Canadian Red Cross

Rogers family of companies donates $250,000 to earthquake relief efforts and enables text donations

Rogers or Fido wireless customer text the word HELP to 1291, and can instantly donate $5 to Partners in Health, one of Haiti’s biggest healthcare NGOs.

 

TELUS supporting Red Cross and Salvation Army with donations and through text

Customers can text 45678 and enter "Haiti" to donate $5 to support #Haiti earthquake relief. Funds going to The Salvation Army.
